Rate Change Information
Effective June 6, 2016, UPS changed the measurement that determines whether the UPS Additional Handling charge will be applied to UPS® Ground services packages in the U.S.
Any package with the longest side exceeding 48 inches, instead of 60 inches, will be assessed the fee.*
The Additional Handling fee of $10.50 remains the same.
The change does not impact UPS Air or International shipments.
This change is being implemented due to the additional handling required for these types of packages in the UPS network.
* The rule that the Additional Handling charge will apply where a package’s second longest side exceeds 30 inches in length is not changing.

You should try to use the Postal Service when ever possible. You forgot surcharges for fuel etc and minimum charges that don’t get close to the postal service’s small package prices….and that UPS tries to deliver three times and then sends it back… That could happen when you are working just during the same week. The postal service will even deliver on Saturday or leave a slip and return it to the local office where we all know our PO is and one can pick it up (that is if you don’t want your scarce/expensive part thrown in the bushes) Still if sent UPS to your home it is liable to arrive via the Postal Service, so as you are looking for a UPS delivery they transferred it to them, as they know who can most effectively deliver to the general public- residential. Unlike the postal service with published prices, with UPS questionable secretly negotiated prices add with volume level discounts, surcharges, even change of address charges for delivery around the back, 1/2 for two shotguns on the same lot or suite B when they followed you from A. means that it is highly unlikely that Morris knows what their shipping cost for any specific package actually is. This new aspect is just another way to add an unforeseen charge transferring profits from our vendor Morris to the shipping company UPS. I have been a vendor to the mailing and shipping industry for over 30 years.

Thanks Remi for your comment. Although the post was written only about a change in policy for UPS, Moss offers many options for delivery including USPS.
