Celebrating the Women Driving Our Industry Forward

Building Careers in a Male-Dominated Industry

Many of the women in our business entered the industry with little prior experience in classic cars but found a thriving, welcoming community.

Megan Packard

Megan Packard, Graphics Designer at Moss Motors, recalls:

“Before joining the Moss family, I had little to no experience with classic cars. Now, however, I can point out the rarest makes and models—impressing the most serious automotive enthusiasts of my friends and family. Mostly, I love that these special little cars can unite people in a unique and fun way.”

Vikki Lane

Vikki Lane, Business Systems Coordinator, SNG Barratt adds:

“Being a woman in a historically male-dominated industry can have its challenges, but here at SNG Barratt we have a great group of women, across many departments, who show passion and enthusiasm to drive the business forward and strive for success.”

Georg Rice

Meanwhile, Senior Buyer Georg Rice reflects on the role of women in the
automotive sector:

“As women in the auto industry, we are not just keeping the engines running; we’re steering innovation, crafting excellence, and driving the future of mobility.”

Caroline Norcott

Caroline Norcott, HR Assistant, SNG Barratt, said:

“I have worked in the classic car and historic motor racing industry for 20ish years. Early on it was rare to find another female working in the technical sales side and each time I answered the phone to a customer it was “can I speak to Sales luv” and a disbelieving silence and a sigh when I informed the caller that they were. This has slowly changed thanks to those women who persevered, and one of my best memories was being asked by a race prep company for my advice on a brake issue on their GT40, in the middle of Silverstone pits to an audience of disbelieving ‘older’ men – it’s the small things.”

Marissa Garcia

For Marissa Garcia, HR Director at Moss Motors, the presence of women in the industry is about more than just representation—it’s about leadership.

“In the world of cars and craftsmanship, women are not just passengers—we’re behind the wheel, driving innovation and progress daily.”

Jana Jakubacova

Jana Jakubacova, Product Program Manager, Moss Europe,

“I have always loved cars, including classic cars, but my interest has grown considerably since I started working for Moss – it’s impossible not to develop a love for these cars at Moss, with enthusiasts all around the business. It’s infectious.

For many classic car owners, working on their car is a lifestyle, and I love that I can do my part to contribute to their passion.”

Finding Passion in Unexpected Places

Jo Woodland

For Jo Woodland, PA at SNG Barratt UK, the journey into the classic car industry wasn’t one she had planned—but it became one she loves.

I knew nothing about classic cars when I joined SNG Barratt 11 years ago. Today, although my technical knowledge might still fall behind many of my colleagues, my passion for these timeless vehicles has only grown.

Jo’s role is anything but predictable. From arranging international travel to ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, she thrives in a fast-paced environment where flexibility is key.

“There’s something almost magical about classic cars. I remember the first time I sat in the iconic 50EE. Instantly, I was transported back to my childhood, sitting in my grandad’s Mini, surrounded by the unmistakable scent of leather cream seats on a warm summer day. Classic cars evoke a treasure trove of memories.”

Jo Woodland continued:

There is no industry in which a woman cannot succeed—behind a desk or under a bonnet, society might sometimes suggest otherwise, but you can break through any stereotype with determination. It’s all about seizing opportunities and trusting in your abilities.”
