In an effort to improve on the already high quality of our line of upholstery products, Moss Motors has purchased a state-of-the-art cutting machine. “The flat-bed die cutter is exceptionally precise, the cuts are clean and exactly consistent every time, and as a result, there is very little variation from one finished piece to the next and the whole process takes less time,” said Ricky Mills, the upholstery shop manager. “We can cut a wide variety of material including leather and carpet, and multiple layers at a time. And at the end of the day there is significantly less excess material going unused. The materials and fabrics we use are expensive, so less waste is both cost effective and environmentally considerate.” Ricky Mills is a new addition to the Moss Motors family. He joins us with 37 years of experience in the manufacture and production of high-end furniture and upholstery.

In the 1970s factory-replacement interior seats, panels, and carpet kits for classic British cars were being phased out by the manufacturers. In response, Moss Motors began a top-of-the-line upholstery department to make our own products and we’ve never looked back.
