Market Segment Specialist (MSS)
Triumph TR & Spitfire
Moss Motors, Ltd., the leading distributor of Classic British replacement and aftermarket automotive parts for the past 65+ years, seeks an experienced Triumph vehicle/market specialist to join our product merchandising team.

The primary responsibility of the MSS is to be the product and marketing champion of their vehicle market segment within Moss Motors, Ltd. Using a combination of vehicle marque expertise, in-depth parts knowledge, industry/market knowledge, competitor review, data analysis and proven business acumen, the MSS will be the driving force, leading product and market development for their designated segment’s vehicle(s).

This position requires an individual with thorough to masterful knowledge and expertise on the vehicles in their segment and the parts that make them up, as well as, a keen understanding of overall market segment drivers and influencers; including key players, marketing opportunities and resources. Primary duties include identification of products/ product lines to carry and other opportunities for business growth and product development/improvement, along with manufacturing or sourcing opportunities for new or existing products. The MSS will also help compile product information and resources, and provide needed product data to key stakeholders in Merchandising, Purchasing, Marketing, Sales and Order Fulfillment to facilitate the smooth and successful launch of all new products in their market segment. This individual will also contribute their segment specific marketing insights and recommendations to product/brand/market management discussions and the identification of key marketing opportunities for Moss Motors, Ltd. The MSS should have a constant vision toward continued segment growth, segment profitability, optimal product quality and customer satisfaction.

The Market Segment Specialist will be the resident expert and the key source of parts and industry knowledge for their designated market segment to all other Moss’ team members.

Position Requirements:
• Minimum 6-10 years marque/market segment specific knowledge/experience – Triumph cars (required)
• Automotive parts experience; automotive enthusiast (required)
• Vehicle specific knowledge with hands-on experience: repair/modification/restoration (required)
• Outstanding communication and organizational skills
• Proven ability to deliver high quality work in a timely fashion, attention to detail
• Bachelor’s Degree in business or other applicable discipline (preferred)
• Familiarity with spreadsheets and data manipulation – Microsoft Excel/Access (preferred)

Position is located in the beautiful Goleta/Santa Barbara area of California. Compensation commensurate with experience.

Some travel, both domestic and foreign may be required. (< 20%)
