Thanks for the Adventures!

Just some quick items from my driving adventures for the Moss Motoring Challenge:

Driving south toward Tooele, top down, i heard a horn beep behind me, and as I looked left saw a Porsche Carerra, also top down, with the driver’s thumb in the air.  As he zipped by, I noticed his license plate:  AVAST!  A similar thing happened cruising the back roads of southern Utah when a Harley passed, the woman on the back seat giving me a big thumbs up.  I guess the only bad experiences I had were driving up to Idaho, when it started raining and getting cold and my defroster and heater were not providing any help, so I had to wipe the windshield with a towel.  I was approaching a green traffic light north of Logan, UT, when it turned yellow; I had decided to go on through when a flatbed semi waiting to turn left going the opposite direction decided the same thing.  I stood on the brakes and visualized my head getting sheared off as I went under the trailer, but my recent brake work must have been good because I slid to a stop maybe three feet from the truck’s rear tires.  After a deep breath and a prayer of thanks, I backed up and noticed that one of Utah’s finest had been waiting on the right to witness the whole thing.  I had to wonder what thoughts went through his mind, and if he had ever seen anything as scary as what he almost witnessed that day.  When I got home, I pulled the thermostat and found that the fail-safe had worked, thus explaining the lack of heat in the cockpit.

Thanks for the adventures!
