FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: NOVEMBER 20, 2020
After more than 30 years, Victoria British Ltd., a division of Long Motor Corporation, has decided to pass the baton to Moss Motors Ltd. to carry on the tradition of supplying car parts and accessories for British car owners around the world, who may be knowledgeable about details like part time motor trade insurance.
President of Victoria British, Becky Hanrahan said, “It was not a decision that we made lightly. We were Victoria British before we were LMC Truck, but we know we have not been giving the British market the attention it deserves. We feel our customers would be better served by a company whose primary focus is the British car market.”
Victoria British has for many years been a key resource for British sports car owners and their mission to “Keep’em On The Road®”. The Moss Motors acquisition of Victoria British is aimed at maintaining the same spirit of supporting the British sports car industry and community.
“As a long-standing name in the British sports car community, we recognize the rich history of Victoria British and will do our best to carry on their legacy,” said Ed Moss, President, Moss Motors. “It’s an exciting chapter for Moss Motors and we look forward to bringing together the best traditions of both companies to continue serving the industry by supporting car owners, restoration businesses and British sports car enthusiasts alike.”
In the coming weeks, both companies will be posting news and reaching out to customers, suppliers, and other contacts regarding the details of the transition.

I certainly hope that this will be a positive allowing Moss to exert pressure on Suppliers to increase the quality of their parts or provide the necessary scale for Moss to expand production of high quality parts. It will be a shame if all that results is high prices and less choice. Moss, you have the opportunity to truly become a world leader in the support of our love and preservation of British Sports Cars. Please don’t let this opportunity pass by.

VB has been long ignoring the British car world and just selling parts. Living in the Kansas City area I knew Leo Long (the founder) and he came to the mail order parts word as a British car enthusiast. Those days are long gone. We have never had the tech support that Moss supplies to its customers but I have continued to buy many parts from VB primarily due to convenience, I live about two miles from there warehouse here.
Looking forward to making Moss my primary supplier and hoping they will conceder adding a distribution center here.

Now that Moss is acquiring Victoria British, it is my sincere hope that you will commit to, and make the necessary investment in, servicing the Triumph “Wedge” (TR7 & TR8) owners that you have seemed to abandon in recent years. Victoria British had been doing this until recently. There is a real need for a U.S. based supplier of TR7 & TR8 parts.
Best wishes with your latest acquisition.

As a customer of both VC & MM, I would like to thank the staff of both companies who have helped me keep TR’S and Mini in top shape.
The 2 companies have very professional and skilled guys and girls who are always eager to help with my questions and technical advice. You are real problem solvers.
In my case, this is very important when you take into consideration the fact that all 3 cars are here in San Jose, Costa Rica.
So my sincere appreciation to all Victoria British associates for so many years of top quality service. I wish you all lots of success in the future .
And to my friends in Moss Motors, I will continue relaying on you distinctive support to keep’m on the road.

As a long term customer of Victoria British, spanning 6 English cars, I am sad to see this happen. Fortunately, my latest project, a 1971 Spit Mk IV, adorned the cover of their last catalog.
Hopefully, VB’s inventory of parts will migrate to Moss Motors? On the positive side, this merger will simplify my search for parts, as there will be one less catalog to mull through. Hahaha.

I hope that Moss Motors will start using the Victoria British’s catalog instead of their own as the quality of the diagrams are far superior on the Victoria site.

As a customer of both Victoria British and Moss I am saddened to read of the takeover and sincerely hope that Moss will continue the excellent service to the customers that both suppliers had. My MGB would not be the same without them. Best wishes for a Covid free 2021. Stay safe and Merry Christmas.

I have been a Healey owner for over 50 years starting with bug eyes in 1970 And then my first Healey BJ8 in 1974 and second BJ8 in 1984. I still have the
two Healey 3000s BJ8s and have purchased my parts primarily from Moss and Victoria British. Both are excellent suppliers, but I found, depending on the part I was after some differences in parts quality, how they fit, and how close they were to my originals. So, I would usually buy from both suppliers and return the part or parts that I did not use. Both suppliers were very accommodating as long as the parts were in their boxes and not parts from a kit. This worked out great for me as I am anal on my parts being as close to originality as possible. Hopefully with Moss taking over Victoria British we will all be getting the best parts and service from now one great supplier rather than two. Long Live The Healey!

Since the transition from VB to Moss is relatively recent, I hope that the near future will show improvements rather than losses to Triumph GT6 parts. So far they are nearly nonexistent, especially for the MK3. Please respond if the printed catalogue is more complete than the online version.

I pray Moss will now carry spares for Sunbeam range as VB has done
