Skipping a Step

When I was in Grade School at Hope View, Mark Ducharm was the nearest thing we had to Fonzie.  While most of us were trying to figure out how to match Garanimals on a daily basis, Mark was growing a moustache (skimpy though it was) and kissing girls.

The rest of us were still trying to find someone to hold hands with while he was slow dancing with Sandy Swalin.  Why am I discussing grade school dating? Because hand holding is often the first step to everything that follows and only a lucky few get to miss that inaugural step and get to the good stuff.

I thought of all this because when we were at the Virginia showroom today  Brad Phillips from Hagerty confessed that he had never driven an MGB.  Brad has owned three Triumphs, an E-Type and two Sunbeams. I find it odd that any LBC guy worth his salt can have missed out on the gateway drug that the B represents.  Well Brad finally drove a B today so he can cross that off the list. But since he already owns a Jaguar it must feel like waking up for breakfast and then reaching out to hold hands.
