Windshield wipers spend most of their time laying down doing nothing. When you need them, the blades have often deteriorated or taken a set to one side from the pressure of the arm against the windshield. A good idea is to carry a spare set in your car to be used only when needed. Put them on when it rains; take them off and put the old ones back the rest of the time. Thus you have a new set for use whenever you need them, without the expense of continually buying new ones. (This works for the family car as well as your sports car.)
